Everything you need to know about our Full Service Grooming sessions

Before Your Appointment

How do I schedule and what should I prepare?

Booking is easy by calling or texting (502) 236-2887. Please ensure your pup has had a quick potty break before we arrive and that you have a safe parking space available for our van. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required for all appointments, and dogs must be up to date on any other required vaccinations before service. For first-time appointments, we also recommend sharing any specific anxieties, behavioral concerns, or relevant health history during booking so we can tailor the experience.

Where do you travel and do I need to be home?

We cover the Greater Burlington County area. While we love to meet you during the first visit, many of our regular clients arrange latchkey services. We simply need access to your pup and a place to park. If you are unsure if we cover your neighborhood,  please reach out to 502-236-2887 to confirm availability.

What is your cancellation policy?

To help us manage our schedule and reserve time fairly for all clients, we ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Appointments canceled within 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.

What about inclement weather?

In cases of extreme weather, we may reach out to reschedule for safety. Most common with snow storms.

My dog bites—can you still groom them?

At Benny’s Mobile Grooming Company, we maintain a strict policy against knowingly grooming truly aggressive dogs. This is for the safety of both our groomers and your dog.

That said, we also understand that not every dog who reacts during grooming is aggressive. Some dogs are fearful, overwhelmed, or unsure, and may respond defensively in an unfamiliar situation. In many cases, those dogs benefit from a calmer, quieter, one-on-one environment.

We are often happy to work with dogs who are anxious or inexperienced, provided it can be done safely and without pushing them beyond their limits.

Where do you park the van when you're here?

We ask that a safe parking space be available for the van when we arrive, whether that is a driveway, curbside space, or parking lot. Proper parking helps keep the van level and creates the safest, most comfortable setup for your dog’s groom.

During the Groom

How do you handle nervous, senior, or first-time dogs?

Every dog is groomed at their own pace. For senior dogs, we use supportive handling to help keep them safe and comfortable throughout the process. For nervous or first-time dogs, the quiet, one-on-one setting of mobile grooming helps reduce the barking, commotion, and overstimulation often found in busy shops. At Benny’s Mobile Grooming Company, your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. If a dog becomes too stressed, fatigued, or uncomfortable, we will adjust the groom as needed, that includes skipping certain steps or ending early. We never use cages, and your dog is the only one in the van receiving our full attention from start to finish.

What products and extra care do you provide?

We use high-quality, professional shampoos and conditioners with hypoallergenic products available upon request. Every full groom includes the services listed on our Services page. If your dog has allergies or sensitivities, just let us know ahead of time so we can adjust products or use a vet‑approved shampoo you provide.

What equipment is used?

Our state-of-the-art van is fully self-contained and manufactured by Hanvey Engineering, the industry leader in mobile grooming van conversions. Our van's are fully climate controlled and the fresh water is constantly kept at a comfortable bathing temperature. Every piece of equipment available for use in our vans are intentionally designed to create a safe and efficient grooming experience.

How long does it take?

Mobile grooming sessions can take 45 minutes to 2+ hours per dog depending on breed and coat condition, with the average grooming session sitting around 60-90 minutes per dog.  We focus on quality over speed to ensure a low-stress experience. If your pet has a specific physical limitation, please let us know at 502-236-2887.

Can I leave my home while you groom my dog?

100%. We encourage you to embrace the convenience of mobile grooming.

After the Groom

How is payment handled and when will I see my pup?

We bring your happy, clean pup right back to your door once finished. Payment is processed conveniently via cash, check, Venmo, or Bank Card. Please note that a 3.8% fee is applied to all Bank Card transactions. No additional fees are applied to other forms of  payment.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Grooming frequency can vary depending on your dog’s breed, coat type, lifestyle, and grooming needs. In most cases, we recommend scheduling every 4 to 8 weeks to help maintain a healthy coat, support good hygiene, and prevent matting. Certain breeds may be required to be groomed sooner.  Your groomer will advise what is recommended for your pup.
